My Story
I believe that in life we go through a series of transitions or challenges with each leading to a transformation. The essence of transformation is change, connection, intimacy, confidence, joy and success. Often our efforts to maintain control lead to more problems, frustration, hopelessness and disappointment, and often overwhelming. I believe that sharing your burden can provide for your insight and understanding of the impact your experiences have on your life. And with that, a clarity of what you can do, and thereby approach your situation differently and more effectively. My goal is to help you achieve your optimum level of life satisfaction, to harness your personal resiliency, and living up to your full potential.
Working as a clinical psychologist for over 17 years, I have adopted the best of various approaches and continuously learning more, to help you attain your goals and aspirations, with a focus on your strengths. I started my career in this field working as a lecturer and clinical psychologist at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit of the Psychiatry Department in Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM). After 8 years of public service, I joined a private Counselling Centre as an associate consultant, providing psychological assessment, psychotherapy and coaching to the community and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) clients, encompassing children, adults and families. I then moved on to establish Silver Lining Psychologist Specialist in 2018.

In the area of EAP crisis responses, I am experienced in providing crisis intervention and support at the production plants or corporation offices following crisis that impacted the organizations and employees. Examples of EAP crisis at the workplace comprising of employees’ suicidality, plant closing down, plant explosion involving fatalities and other issues.
On the community front, I was involved in setting up and facilitating the Depression Support Group at Malaysian Mental Health Association (MMHA) for many years. I have been an active volunteer with Mercy Malaysia, providing mental health and psychosocial support to post disaster areas within Malaysia and oversea. I have been providing Psychological First Aid training for humanitarian relief workers around the world. In recent years, I am also actively involved in helping domestic violence survivors through Women's Aid Organisation Malaysia (WAO).

I speak fluent English, Malay, Mandarin, Cantonese, and conversant in Japanese.
